~Caught by SURPRISE~ HGTV Rate MY Space~ Kathee's Cottage Gardens~

This morning I was caught by surprise!  I found an email from a lady who wrote a comment on my HGTV Rate MY Space.  She was very sweet and asked a question about the rocks in my garden.  The funny thing is I had forgot all about my rate my space page!  I had put it up over 4 years ago!  It was a nice surprise and made me go back through and look at my pictures...it is amazing how fast a garden grows. Back four years ago, I didn't have a blog, I didn't do facebook, I wasn't an antique dealer, so I shared my pictures on HGTV Rate MY Space.  It was so fun to read all the comments and see all the gardens.  So it was a nice surprise that someone found my page again!  If you would like to see it click here.  I would love it if you would leave a comment and rate me...

 Today I was planning to do a new post on the garden.  Seeing it is Spring and everything is blooming like CRAZY around here! :)  We had a down pour the other night...and it left my flowers and garden so happy:)!!!  Here are some pictures of the garden yesterday...

Last week these Roses were not even blooming.  These are my favorite Roses called Royal Bonica.  Do you remember my post of those gorgeous cast iron urns? (flea market keeper) :)  I have a pair of them and they are across from each other on the driveway.

Another flea market find is my tall bird bath with the little girl..just put her in the garden last week

Isn't she sweet?  The birds sure do love her...I love the Rose and Lavender that surrounds her!

ROAD TRIP!! Monticello Antiques.......Portland Oregon

I'm a sharer...and believe what comes around goes around...this week I wanted to share with you my FAVORITE  antique store, Monticello Antiques in Portland, Oregon.  My daughter Khrystyne was living in Oregon a few years ago and introduced me to this amazing shop.  Over the years I've had the privilege  to meet Joyce the store manager, Kelly the owner, and all of the crew!  I feel at home in this shop...so comforting. This weekend I had an opportunity to visit the Monticello Home and Garden Show which runs thru May 28th.  OMG I found some  AMAZING stuff....if you get a chance........... go visit!! 

I would love to share some of the beautiful dealers booths....They truly just don't get any better than this!! 

As you can see...so much eye candy to look at...I had so much fun and bought a ton!

New Arrivals at American Home & Garden~

I can't wait to show you what has arrived this week!  So many new garden items...the store is just BURSTING!  I hope you stop by this weekend...things go fast around here...Remember the new Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine is also here with the new price.  (AS OF TODAY ALL SOLD OUT of JDA)  I will be transferring some from the other store at the end of the week.  Thank you for supporting me on the magazine!  I will be adjusting the buying for each store accordingly!

 The cutest cast iron bath tub ever,  with a stenciled pattern in turquoise.  Wrought iron bench, wrought iron gate (pair), very old cast iron urn, sweet wooden glider bench. (this gorgeous bath tub SOLD this weekend!)....gotta hurry in if you see something....things go fast around here!  If you see something you LOVE...call and let us know YOU want it!!  We will make sure it is YOURS!!!

 Doesn't Pame look adorable in this tub??  I could see this at my house planted with lavender and Ivy...maybe even some herbs.

Just in~ this beautiful Swedish half size bench with the cutest details.  Also the iron flower cart is to die for!  
Another antique cast iron urn and plinth...

Do you love French enamelware like I do?  Well these sets are not only hard to find but don't last long in the store!  Karyn has brought 3 sets in these past few weeks and this is her last set!  Also we are selling out of the French Atmospheres Book, only 2 left. (only one left of the book French Atmospheres Book)

Another antique European bench...this one is pretty special opens up to store things under the seat.  Beautiful green color with amazing details!  

Who loves pine??  OMG this piece is to die for!!!  Talk about a statement!!  (SOLD after one day in the store!)

My Dear Friends from UP the Street....OPENED a NEW SHOP!!! ~ Antique Menagerie~

OMG...my friends Kenny and Donna opened a new shop this week, by the name of Antique Menagerie.....(establishment of luxury and curiosity).....
I can't wait to start sharing pictures of this amazing new shop...located in  Westlake Village, CA.  The locals call it the "Design District"   all located on one street Via Colinas.  For  Kenny and Donna  this has been a life long dream (one that I have also) to own their own shop.  They have poured many hours into the buying and staging of merchandise...it truly is a decorators dream when you walk in!!  I was able to snap one picture during the set up ...one of my favorite vignettes!

This is just a tease my friends...I can't tell you how AMAZING this store is!  They carry antiques, garden, home decor, trinkets, gifts and whatnots!  Look for their ad in the April issue of 805 magazine.

SPRING has ARRIVED at American Home & Garden and The Agoura Antique Mart~

Spring has Arrived here at American Home & Garden and The Agoura Antique Mart~  today the new Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine will be in both stores.  I have a nice surprise for you also....something to scream about...jump for joy...smile....the price of JDA has just been lowered to $13.95 per issue!  YEP that's right not a typeO the new price is $13.95.   I have prepared for this amazing price by adding more copies to each store, but when they are gone ....that is it...they are gone!  So hurry in and grab your copy.  JDA has decided to TEST this concept for one year and not charge us dealers here in the United States any shipping, therefore lowering the price.  Another big surprise is the magazine is now going to be offered monthly starting with this issue.  This is so exciting for us JDA die hards!  Here is a few pictures of the new issue....just for a tease...

The great people at JDA had this issue ready a little ahead of schedule, it wasn't due out to us until April 2nd...

Just Arrived~ French Atmospheres in The Nordic Way by Jeanne d' Arc Living~And new Spring arrivals at American Home & Garden~

One of my Favorite books of all time~back in 2007 I purchased this book, it wasn't even written in English.  I just loved the pictures~you know the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words"~well that is how amazing this book is!  Arriving this week at American Home & Garden in Ventura and at The Agoura Antique Mart in Agoura CA.  This beautiful coffee table style book written in English now, is an indispensable guide to decorating your home in the  French Nordic Style.  The book is 400 pages of inspiring pictures.  If you love Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine, you are going to adore and treasure this beautiful book.  I purchased 20 books last summer and sold out immediately~these books are now back in stock for the spring and summer and I will have them in both locations.  You can also email me for a copy and I can send it to you.  (forty4caliber@yahoo.com).  Here are some pictures just for a tease~

 Beautifully weathered chippy and GORGEOUS pair of shutters, the perfect garden chair not to mention that French mirror with barbola accents in the background~ That very vintage plant stand is an awesome piece also~

 Sweet French Gray/Blue dresser~and a beautiful dress form came in this week~

 Another beautiful dresser~black and gold with glass knobs~and another Robins Egg Blue dresser in the background ~

 A pair of very hard to find and RARE Art Deco Style motel chairs that have that PERFECT patina that we all love in the best shades of blue and turquoise!~

 This is a vintage wooden glider from the 50's with a chippy green paint loaded with gorgeous pillows.  Iron bench's stone urn and lantern all just arrived this week!

There is always an Amazing selection of vintage garden statuary available...isn't he sweet?

A few more new pieces arrived this week~a lovely cabinet with glass shelves and wire front, a book case in the back~ beautiful tall vases with rose designs~ and European shutters.

~Jeanne d' Acr Living Magazine 2nd Issue is Arriving Today~

Hello, the second edition of Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine will be in my booth space at American Home & Garden and also at The Agoura Antique Mart today~YAY~  I'm not sure if everyone is aware, Jeanne d' Arc has decided, by request from the readers, to publish the magazine each month!  This will start with the next issue, thus there will be 11 issues this year.  The next issue comes out on April 2. 2012.  This is so exciting more inspiration for us!!   Here are a few pictures from this months issue.

I've been buying this magazine since it started......back before it was written in English, I have to say I think this one will be one of my Favorites!  My friend Debra has her home featured, and what a beautiful home it is!   There is a whole section dedicated to French vintage items including, dress forms, millinery, haberdashery...oh so much is packed in this months issue.   Just to remind everyone also the magazine is advertisement FREE!  Which I love!

Come visit American Home & Garden in Ventura or The Agoura Antique Mart to pick up a copy.  I only purchase a limited supply and when they are gone~they are gone!
